Like I genuinely started this 10K steps daily challenge thinking it was just about movement.
Just about getting my body going again.
Just about checking a box.
But honestly?
Walking 10,000 steps every single day ended up teaching me some of the most profound lessons of my entire healing and rebuilding journey.
So here are the 12 lessons I learned from walking 10K steps daily β the real, honest, unfiltered ones π
π± 1. Progress Over Perfection
This was honestly the very first lesson walking taught me.
Because sometimes?
Ya gotta just let the perfectionist in you go.
And fall in love with progress instead of perfection so that you can actually grow.
Because perfectionism keeps you stuck.
But progress?

π 2. Repetition and Consistency Create Habits
Here's something really interesting that I noticed.
Walking 10K steps on Day 1 felt SO much harder than walking 10K steps on Day 55.
And what I learned from that is:
π what once seemed uncomfortable slowly becomes your new normal.
Repetition creates habits.
Consistency creates identity.
And one day you wake up and realize that the thing that used to feel impossibleβ¦
β¦now just feels like who you are π

Okay I have to be really honest about this one.

I honestly didn't even know how I was going to fit it into my day.

You start to hear yourself again.

Stop saying you are too busy.

I say that with so much love β because I used to say it too lol π

This one honestly makes me emotional every time I think about it.
Because there were moments earlier this year where I genuinely wasn't sure I could keep going.
Where everything felt heavy.
Where grief felt overwhelming.
Where rebuilding felt impossible.
And yet?
Here I am.
55+ days of walking 10K steps.
Still going.
Still showing up.
Still proving to myself every single day that:

The dishes had to wait.
The to-do list had to wait.
And I had to learn how to be flexible in order to actually achieve my goal.
Like sometimes I did the laundry after everything else was finished.
Sometimes I did it the next day.
And honestly?
The laundry was always still there waiting for me lol ππ
But I'm still learning how not to beat myself up for that.
Because honestly?
Flexibility is not failure.
Flexibility is just:
π choosing what matters most in that moment.
And some days?
The walk matters more than the laundry π
