My Financial & Entrepreneurship Goals (Where I'm Headed on This Journey)
Thank you so much for visiting my blog and following along on my journey — I'm so excited you're here. Let's get started, yay!
Setting intentional financial and entrepreneurship goals is one of the most powerful things you can do to start manifesting the life you truly want. Below I'm sharing mine openly and vulnerably, because I believe there's real magic in putting your goals out into the world.
💰 My Financial Goals
1. Start investing in and max out my SIMPLE IRA retirement account. This is a big one for me. I want to consistently contribute the maximum allowed each year and watch that investment grow over time. If you're brand new to retirement investing and want to understand the landscape, The Simple Path to Wealth by JL Collins is an incredible, easy-to-read starting point — highly recommend it.
2. Save a 6–12 month emergency fund. Financial security starts with a safety net. My goal is to build a solid cushion between $15,000 and $30,000 so I can sleep at night. Dave Ramsey's The Total Money Makeover walks through exactly how to do this step by step — it's a classic for a reason.
3. Save toward purchasing land and building a tiny house in upstate NY. This dream is very close to my heart. A peaceful piece of land, a cozy tiny home, and a simpler life. For anyone else dreaming of the tiny life, The Big Tiny by Dee Williams is an inspiring read.
4. Decrease debt by paying down my car loan. I'm currently working on knocking this out. Every extra dollar I can throw at it gets me closer to freedom. Debt payoff planners on Amazon can be a great tool for tracking your progress visually.
5. Create a pregnancy/new baby fund. Life is full of beautiful surprises, and I want to be financially ready for the ones I'm hoping for.
6. Increase my financial literacy education through books and podcasts. Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to money. A few books I love and recommend:
Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki — a foundational read that shifts how you think about money and assets.
I Will Teach You to Be Rich by Ramit Sethi — practical, no-judgment advice for real life.
You Are a Badass at Making Money by Jen Sincero — the perfect bridge between mindset and practical money moves.
7. Financial healing. This one feels deeply personal. I'm drawn to exploring and releasing any limiting money stories or blocks I may be carrying in my psyche. The Energy of Money by Maria Nemeth is a beautiful resource for this kind of inner work.
8. Happy Money. On a spiritual level, I want my money to be happy. When it comes in, I want it to flow from work I love. When it goes out, I want it to be spent with intention and joy. I even want my wallet to be organized and beautiful — something like this minimalist wallet organizer makes a difference in how you feel about managing your cash. The book Happy Money: The Japanese Art of Making Peace with Your Money by Ken Honda is one I keep coming back to.
🚀 My Entrepreneurship Goals
1. Continue growing my current business. Building something of my own is incredibly meaningful to me. Growth, even slow and steady growth, is something I celebrate.
2. Invest in empathic leadership courses. I want to grow not just as a business owner, but as a leader — in a loving, kind, and emotionally intelligent way. Dare to Lead by Brené Brown is at the top of my reading list for this.
3. Speak on stage about my financial freedom journey. There is something about sharing your story out loud that is so powerful — both for the speaker and the audience. This goal lights me up.
4. Chunky Knit Blankets. Okay, this one might surprise you! For some reason, I feel super called to create handmade super cozy chunky knit blankets and sell them at craft fairs. If you want to try this yourself, you can get started with chunky arm knitting yarn on Amazon — no needles required, just your arms and a cozy afternoon.
5. Blogging & Writing. I feel so drawn to leveling up my content creation skills — blogging, SEO, and writing online. I've been a writer my whole life (journals upon journals!), and I'm thrilled to be back at it. Building a StoryBrand by Donald Miller is a fantastic resource for anyone wanting to write content that actually connects with readers.
6. Possibly start doing healing work again. This is a softer goal, more of an intention than a firm plan. But I'm staying open to it.
