Welcome back to my little corner of the internet 💗

Okay so I want to talk about something today that has genuinely changed my life.

And that is:
👉 affirmations.

Now before you scroll past thinking you have heard this all before lol 😭💗

I want to be really honest about how I actually use them.

Because I am not talking about reading a list of affirmations once and expecting your life to magically transform overnight.

I am talking about:
👉 using them consistently.
👉 repeating them until they feel true.
👉 letting them slowly rewire the stories your nervous system has been running on for years.

Because here is the thing about survival mode.

Survival mode tells you:

  • you are not safe

  • you are not enough

  • good things do not happen for people like you

  • and that struggling is just... your life now

And affirmations — repeated consistently and with intention — slowly begin to tell your nervous system a different story.

A story of:
👉 safety.
👉 worthiness.
👉 abundance.
👉 and the deep knowing that things can actually get better 💗

So here are the 20 affirmations that genuinely helped me stop living in survival mode — and slowly start healing instead.

✨ How I Actually Use These Affirmations

Before I share the list I want to tell you exactly how I use these — because I think the HOW matters just as much as the WHAT.

👉 In the car every morning — I say them aloud on my drive to pick up the man who helps me care for my mom. Out loud. Repeatedly. Sometimes loudly lol 😭💗

👉 On my walking pad every day — I repeat them over and over in my head while I walk my 10K steps. Walking and affirming at the same time feels incredibly grounding.

👉 Written on index cards — I have one affirmation that I write out repeatedly on an index card until the entire card is completely full. Then I place it into an envelope that says:
"Amy's Mind Garden."

And honestly?

That last practice — the index card ritual — is the one I do most consistently. And I genuinely believe it is slowly planting seeds in my mind that are changing everything 💗

💗 The 20 Affirmations That Helped Me Stop Living in Survival Mode

🌱 Affirmations for Safety and Starting Over

💗 "It is safe for me to start over in my own unique way."

This one is deeply personal to me. Because survival mode had me believing that starting over was dangerous — that it meant I had failed. This affirmation slowly helped me reframe starting over as something brave and beautiful instead 💗

💗 "I am safe and supported."

Your nervous system needs to hear this one — especially when life has felt unsafe for a long time. Repeating this daily slowly begins to build a felt sense of safety from the inside out 💗

💗 "It is safe for me to forgive myself."

This one is quietly one of the most powerful on the entire list. Because survival mode often comes with a lot of self blame and shame. And learning to forgive yourself — truly — is one of the most healing things you can ever do 💗

🙏 Affirmations for Faith and Divine Timing

💗 "Everything is happening for me — not to me."

This one shifted something fundamental in how I see my life. Survival mode makes everything feel like it is happening TO you — like you are a victim of your circumstances. This affirmation gently invites you to consider that everything might actually be working in your favor 💗

💗 "Everything is happening in divine timing."

Survival mode creates urgency and panic around everything. This affirmation is a gentle reminder to breathe — and to trust that things are unfolding exactly as they are meant to 💗

💗 "I am one with God and God is everything."

For me this one is deeply spiritual and deeply grounding. It reminds me that I am never truly alone — that there is something much bigger than my circumstances holding me 💗

💗 "I trust in God's divine timing for my life."

Closely connected to the one above — this one helps me release the need to control everything and instead surrender to the beautiful timing of a plan that is much bigger than anything I could create on my own 💗

💰 Affirmations for Abundance and Money Healing

💗 "My mind is worth millions."

This is honestly my most used affirmation of all. I write it on index cards almost daily. I repeat it constantly. And slowly — over time — I have started to genuinely believe it. Because survival mode tells you that you are worthless. This affirmation tells your mind a completely different story 💗

💗 "I am a money magnet."

Money and survival mode have a complicated relationship lol 😭💗 This affirmation helps shift the energy around money from scarcity and fear to magnetism and possibility 💗

💗 "Money loves me and I love money."

For a long time money felt like something that was always leaving — never staying. This affirmation helped me start building a genuinely loving and reciprocal relationship with money instead 💗

💗 "Abundance flows to me easily and naturally."

Survival mode makes abundance feel impossible — like it is always just out of reach. This affirmation gently trains your mind to expect good things as the natural order of your life 💗

💗 "I don't chase — I attract."

This one shifted something in my energy in a really powerful way. Survival mode has you chasing — desperately grasping for anything that might make you feel safe. This affirmation invites you to settle into your worth and let good things come to you instead 💗

💗 "I am so incredibly grateful for the money in my bank account right now."

Even when the amount is small. Even when it feels like not enough. Gratitude for what is already there shifts your energy from scarcity to abundance — and that shift changes everything 💗

✨ Affirmations for Self Worth and Identity

💗 "My mind is beautiful."

Survival mode is not kind to your self image. This simple affirmation is a gentle and powerful reminder that your mind — the way you think, create, and see the world — is genuinely beautiful 💗

💗 "I am beautiful."

Said plainly and simply because it is true. And because some days your nervous system needs to hear it more than once 💗

💗 "I am awesome."

Yes — you are lol 😭💗 Sometimes the simplest affirmations land the deepest 💗

💗 "I am AMAZING."

Say it louder for the people in the back 😭💗 Survival mode shrinks you. This affirmation calls you back to your full magnificent self 💗

💗 "I am worthy and deserving of good things in life."

This is one of the most important affirmations on this entire list. Because at the root of survival mode is often a deeply held belief that you do not deserve good things. This affirmation slowly begins to dismantle that belief one repetition at a time 💗

💗 "I am more than enough."

Not almost enough. Not enough if you do more or try harder. More than enough. Right now. Exactly as you are 💗

🌿 Affirmations for Healing and Trust

💗 "Everything I need is already within me right now."

Survival mode sends you searching outside yourself for answers, validation, and safety. This affirmation brings you back home — to the wisdom, strength, and resourcefulness that has always lived inside you 💗

💗 "I am healing more and more every day."

Healing is not always dramatic or visible. But it is always happening. This affirmation is a gentle daily reminder that even on the quiet days — even on the hard days — you are still moving forward 💗

💗 "I trust myself."

Survival mode destroys self trust. It makes you second guess every decision, every instinct, every feeling. Rebuilding trust with yourself — truly — is one of the most powerful forms of healing there is. And it starts with saying these three words 💗

💗 How to Start Your Own Affirmation Practice

Here is what I would suggest if you are just getting started:

👉 Start with just ONE affirmation.

Pick the one on this list that resonates most deeply with you right now.

Write it on an index card.
Say it aloud in your car.
Repeat it on your walks.
Whisper it before you fall asleep.

And then?

Just keep going.

Because honestly?

Affirmations work not because they are magic words.

They work because:
👉 repetition slowly changes what your nervous system believes is true.

And what your nervous system believes is true?

Shapes everything 💗

📇 Index Cards and Pens — For Your Own Mind Garden

💗 Final Thoughts on Affirmations and Survival Mode

If there is one thing I want you to take away from this post it is this:

👉 you are not stuck in survival mode forever.

It might feel that way right now.
It might have felt that way for a really long time.

But slowly — through tiny daily practices like these affirmations —

…your nervous system begins to learn a new story.

A story of safety.
A story of worthiness.
A story of abundance.
And a story where you — yes YOU — are the main character who gets to heal and thrive and become everything you were always meant to be 💗

💗 "The affirmation you repeat today is the belief your nervous system holds tomorrow. Choose your words with love."
